CurbCycle to take over residential collections
Since we started operating in 2008, the values of social and environmental responsibility have been important to Clearer Conscience, and over the years we have partnered with charities and worthy causes to help people, animals and the environment.
We are pleased to announce the formation of CurbCycle (Pty) Ltd, our sister organisation, to further support diversity. CurbCycle is B-BBEE Level 2, with majority female ownership, and supports youth ownership, management and employment.
From 01 December 2023, CurbCycle will be in charge of Clearer Conscience’s residential recycling and residential food waste collections.
CurbCycle will also operate a sorting facility in Retreat to ensure all recycling is categorised as it needs to be for processing.

What does this mean for you?
- From 01 December 2023, residential collections will be administered by our sister organisation, CurbCycle.
- From 01 December 2023, all residential enquiries, queries and orders should be directed to admin@curbcycle.co.za
- Please add admin@curbcycle.co.za to your address book so emails do not go to your junk/spam folder
- Initially, you will still see the Clearer Conscience truck and team collecting from you as normal, to ensure continuation of the same quality of service.
- Current Clearer Conscience business and complex/estate clients will not be affected – CurbCycle is for residential clients only.

Managing director: Lelo Sirayi was fascinated by engineering from an early age and, as a teenager, started fixing boilers and electrical appliances. After school, she entered the world of civil engineering and forged a role in facilities management for a property development and maintenance company, where she was introduced to waste management, and was shocked by the volumes that were sent to landfill. Lelo’s expertise and enthusiasm bring a breath of fresh air to a male-dominated industry.
Head of administration: Melissa Adriaans has been with CurbCycle’s fledgling predecessor since January 2023 and has learned a lot about diverting recyclables from ending up in landfill. With over 10 years administrative experience, she enjoys client interaction and thrives on finding solutions.
Founder: Lee Ludditt has over 15 years’ experience in recycling through her company, Trash Pirates CC, which offers waste management services at events such as Rocking The Daisies. Her goal is to ensure that venues are left clean and tidy, and that nothing is wasted.
Service Delivery Partner: Clearer Conscience Environmental Services started offering residential recycling collections in 2008, encompassing the values of social and environmental responsibility. They have grown over the years and currently service offices, business parks, shopping malls, restaurants, hotels and markets. Over the last 18 months they have experienced a huge surge in demand for organic and food waste collections.
